(NECN) - Stocks are up, as investors grow more confident Ben Bernanke will be reconfirmed as chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Today two Democratic Senators -- and Independent Joe Lieberman say they support Bernanke.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained nearly 24 points to close at almost 10,197.
The Nasdaq composite climbed more than five to finish at nearly 2,211.
The S-and-P 500 rose five to end at almost 1,097.
Regionally -- Bloomberg’s New England index jumped about half.
The New England tech stock index went up a fraction of a point.
