Saints fans 'geaux' wild, swarm streets after NFC Title win
By NECN
(NECN: New Orleans, La.) - Revelers swarmed the streets of New Orleans following the Saints' 31-28 overtime victory in the NFC Championship, which secured the team's spot in Super Bowl XLIV. New Orleans fans were put on edge at the end of regulation when Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre, with the game tied 28-28, threw an interception in Saints territory with only seconds left. Had the pass gone incomplete, kicker Ryan Longwell would have had a crack at a game-winning 55-yard field goal. Instead, the Saints won the overtime coin toss and drove down the field. Kicker Garrett Hartley kicked a 40-yard field goal to win the game 4:45 into overtime. The Saints (15-3) will play the Indianapolis Colts (16-2) in two weeks in Miami. These two were the final two undefeated teams in the NFL this season. Video courtesy of WGNO.
