(NECN) - The University of Connecticut Huskies overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to topple No. 1 Texas 88-74 on Saturday.
The Huskies were led by Jerome Dyson's career-high 32 points. UConn improved to 13-6 with the win, which came in the absence of head coach Jim Calhoun, who is on leave.
It was Texas' second straight loss after starting the season 17-0.
BC loses in final seconds
With 22.8 seconds remaining, the Boston College's Biko Paris was not granted a timeout -- instead a jump ball was called and possession awarded to Virginia Tech.
After the Hokies scored, the officials determined the game clock had stopped earlier in the possession and reset it to show just 5 seconds left. BC never got off a shot, and lost 63-32.
UMass downed by Baylor
It was barely even a contest -- No. 25 Baylor won its school-record 11th straight home game, 71-45 over Massachusetts. The Minutemen (7-12) lost their fifth straight.
